Wedding Dress Disaster

The night before the big day I decided to try my dress on to see the changes the lady made to the sleeves. I slipped it on and about started crying. The sleeves had not been adjusted or touched and I thought I wouldn't be able to wear my dress to the temple the next day! With help from my mom, Alex Cindy Dunkley, Kelli Dunkly, and LaDawn Cox we came up with a solution which I won't reveal. It's not bad don't worry....let's just say I borrowed something from someone that was a lot smaller then me. I hope it wasn't too bad! I had to figure something out cuz the dress had to work.
The ladies in the temple were really nice and they noticed my problem, but helped me out! It all worked out and I loved my dress!!!

Brett's Mission

Brett served in the Chicago south mission. He got to go when he was still 18 and celebrated his 19th birthday in the MTC. His mission President for most of his mission was President Haines. He liked him and respected him in so many ways. He expected the missionaries to work hard, but also was laid back. He said what a great missionary Brett was. Brett worked very hard on his mission and loved the people. He also talks about the great food Chicago has; from deep dish pizza to Chicago dogs. I can't wait to go back with him one day!

My Grandpa Vance passed away this past July 14, 2009. He was the best and made everyone around him feel like they were the prettiest, best person in the world. He loved little kids and thought girls in high heels were hot.
I will miss him very much, but will remember the many memories I have with him! I hope to love like he did!

Anniversary

My husband and I had our first anniversary this past August and it was so much fun! We went to Bear Lake and stayed there for two nights. Brett planned a hike to Bloomington Lake, which we never made it to but it was still fun. Brett made a picnic for us and even carried the picnic basket the whole time on our hike cuz he knew I wanted to use our new picnic basket.
The next day we rented wave runners for 2 hours and that was a blast. We raced each other and Brett dove off the back going really fast! We had a lot of fun together!

August 29, 2008

Brett and I got married August 29, 2008. The day was so perfect...not too hot and everything went so well. I will never forget our perfect wedding day and to end the day with a huge celebration at my parents! Kelli, my cousin, did the flowers and my mom, Alex, her, and good friends of the family helped decorate the backyard. It looked amazing!! There was tons of food, dancing, and everyone Brett and I wanted to celebrate our big day!
We went to Alaskan Inn that night, then went on a cruise to Cabo San Lucas and Ensanada. We stayed our first night in San Diego and walked to Hard Rock Cafe...one of Brett's favorite places to eat now cuz of the burger! We had so much fun!
